Apex Fusion is preparing to launch Vector, a high-performance blockchain aligned with the Cardano protocol, which claims to offer instant transaction finality and throughput 10 times faster than Cardano’s mainnet. The platform is set to debut at the Rare Evo conference this Saturday, marking what the company claims is the first independently verified Cardano-aligned blockchain to achieve instant finality [1]. This development positions Vector as a potential solution for institutional-grade applications in the Web3 space, addressing long-standing concerns over transaction speed and finality in blockchain networks.
According to an independent report commissioned by the Apex Fusion Foundation and authored by Duncan Coutts—Cardano architect and director of Well Typed—along with Neil Davies and Peter Thompson from Predictable Network Solutions, Vector demonstrates performance-optimized conditions where 98.6% of transactions reach immediate finality. Additionally, 99% of transactions finalize within 13 seconds [1]. These metrics suggest that Vector is designed to meet the demands of
seeking real-time settlement capabilities and reduced operational risk.Anja Blaj Zajc, head of legal at the Apex Fusion Foundation, emphasized the benefits of instant finality for both blockchain infrastructure and traditional finance. “For blockchains, it reduces the risk of chain reorganizations and double-spending, enhancing security and reliability,” Zajc stated. She added that financial institutions could benefit from clearer transaction confirmation, which supports compliance and lowers settlement risk [1]. The potential use cases include faster cross-border payments and the development of complex financial products on-chain.
Vector’s claims of performance superiority are notable when compared to similar initiatives. For instance, Sony’s Soneium Fast Finality Layer, a layer-2 solution, currently achieves sub-10-second finality [1]. Meanwhile, Sonic—a rebranded Fantom—reported a testnet finality time of 720 milliseconds, labeled as the fastest EVM-based network by its lead architect Andre Cronje [1]. However, Vector’s emphasis on institutional compliance and Cardano alignment sets it apart in a market increasingly focused on regulatory readiness and enterprise adoption.
To align with global regulatory standards, the Apex Fusion Foundation is also working toward compliance with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which came into effect in late 2024 [1]. The foundation has already secured a Swiss FINMA ruling confirming the AP3X token’s classification and is preparing to notify EU authorities for full MiCA compliance [1]. This strategic move suggests the project is targeting not just performance but also institutional trust through adherence to global financial regulations.
Vector’s launch at Rare Evo highlights the importance of industry events in driving blockchain innovation and adoption. If the platform delivers on its claims, it could attract a wide range of users, from institutional investors to developers seeking high-speed, secure infrastructure for decentralized applications [2]. With its focus on instant finality and institutional compliance, Vector represents a significant step forward in the evolution of blockchain technology aligned with Cardano’s research-driven model.
