The (NABU) and the (SAPO) have launched a large-scale operation to investigate corruption within the energy sector. The inquiry focuses on a high-level criminal organization that allegedly created a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic state enterprises.
, according to a statement released on Monday. The agencies confirmed that they have documented the activities of the criminal network, which has been operating with the aim of influencing key entities in the public energy sector.
Among the organizations under scrutiny is , Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear energy company. The anti-corruption bodies have conducted searches at the premises of several high-profile individuals. These include Justice Minister , previously the energy minister before a recent government reshuffle, and businessman , a co-owner of the “Kvartal 95” studio, who is considered a close associate of President .
The operation comes amid heightened energy challenges for Ukraine. Recent large-scale attacks by Russia have damaged critical parts of the country’s power infrastructure, leading to widespread outages and continued restrictions on power supplies across most regions. The anti-graft investigation is being carried out in parallel with efforts to stabilize the energy system under these difficult conditions.
Both NABU and the Justice Ministry’s press offices have not yet provided additional commentary in response to inquiries from the press. Energoatom has also not issued a statement as of the time of this report.
The investigation is expected to have far-reaching implications for Ukraine’s energy policy and governance. If substantiated, the findings could lead to significant administrative and legal consequences for those found to have violated the law. The anti-corruption agencies have indicated that more details will be released as the operation progresses.

This effort underscores the government’s commitment to combating systemic corruption in key strategic sectors, especially amid external threats to the national energy infrastructure. As the investigation unfolds, the public and industry stakeholders are likely to be closely watching for further developments.
