"Animoca Brands Surges 12% in Revenue, Driven by Blockchain Gaming and Digital Assets"

Animoca Brands, a leading blockchain game and investment company, has reported a significant increase in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2024. The company's unaudited financial results show that revenue reached $314 million, representing a 12% year-over-year growth from the previous year's $280 million.

The company's strong performance was driven by its digital asset advisory business, which contributed $165 million in bookings, up 116% from the previous year. Additionally, the company's Web3 operating businesses and subsidiaries generated $110 million in bookings, while investment activity contributed $39 million.

Animoca Brands' portfolio of blockchain games and Web3 projects also played a significant role in the company's success. Notable contributors to the results included The sandbox, Moca Network, Open Campus, Anichess, gamee, TinyTap, Animoca Brands Japan, nWay, Eden Games, Blowfish Studios, Pixowl, and Crazy Defense Heroes (TOWER).

The company's operating expenses decreased by 12% in 2024, compared to the previous year, as a result of optimization initiatives across the company and its subsidiaries. Total operating expenses for the 12 months ending on December 31, 2024, were $217 million, compared to $246 million in the prior 12 months.

As of December 31, 2024, Animoca Brands' financial assets and token reserve balances included cash and stablecoin balances of $293 million, digital assets of $538 million, and minority investments in over 540 portfolio companies valued at $564 million. The company also holds off-balance sheet token reserves of $2.9 billion, comprising tokens issued by Animoca Brands' majority-owned Web3 subsidiaries and projects.

Throughout the year, Animoca Brands made strategic investments in over 70 projects across various sectors, including AI, infrastructure, decentralized finance (DeFi), and gaming. Notable investments included 0G Labs, Cookie3, FLock.io, MyShell, and Talus. The company's focus on AI projects resulted in investments in liquid tokens of AI-themed projects such as Virtuals, ai16z, Aixbt
