Andhra Pradesh Govt. Approves ₹4,471 Cr. Tariff Subsidy for Q1 of 2025-26.

The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned a tariff subsidy of ₹4,471 crore to discoms for Q1 of 2025-26. The government had given a comprehensive budget release order for nearly ₹12,940 crore for the period April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. As per the Electricity Act of 2003, the government is required to pay the subsidy in advance to the discoms every quarter. The Assistant Secretary to Government and Drawing & Disbursing Officer of the Energy Department has been directed to remit the sanctioned amount into the bank accounts of the discoms.
