AMD Trading Volume Plummets 21.18% to 18th Position Amid AI Acquisition Spree

AMD has recently acquired Brium, an AI software startup, to enhance its AI capabilities and strengthen its position in the market. This acquisition is part of AMD's ongoing strategy to bolster its AI software stack and performance optimization efforts. Brium's expertise in compiler technology, model execution frameworks, and inference optimization will be instrumental in delivering highly optimized AI solutions across the entire stack.
In addition to Brium, AMD has also acquired the employees of Untether AI, a company developing energy-efficient AI inference chips. This move brings a world-class team of engineers to AMD, focused on advancing the company's AI compiler and kernel development capabilities, as well as enhancing digital and SoC design, design verification, and product integration capabilities.
These acquisitions are part of AMD's broader strategy to expand its AI arsenal. Following the purchase of Enosemi at the end of May 2025 and the $4.9 billion acquisition of ZT in March 2025, AMD continues to invest in AI technology to stay competitive in the market. The company has kept ZT’s AI systems design businesses but sold off the manufacturing arm to Sanmina for $3 billion.
