AMD Partners with Arteris for Advanced AI Chiplet Designs

AMD has licensed Arteris Technology's FlexGen network-on-chip/NoC interconnect IP for its next-gen AI chiplet designs. This partnership aims to enhance product performance and efficiency by providing high-performance data transport within AMD chiplets. Arteris' FlexGen NoC IP will work alongside AMD's Infinity Fabric interconnect to accelerate performance and scalability for demanding applications.

AMD has entered into a strategic partnership with Arteris, licensing the latter's FlexGen network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP for its next-generation AI chiplet designs. This collaboration aims to enhance product performance and efficiency by providing high-performance data transport within AMD chiplets. The agreement underscores the increasing complexity of modern SoCs and chiplet-based architectures, which now require multiple highly specialized interconnects or NoCs to efficiently meet the demands of modern electronic systems. FlexGen, Arteris' smart NoC IP technology, is designed to optimize wire length, reduce latency, and improve power efficiency in complex multi-die and chiplet-based designs. It can handle 5 to 20 interconnect networks per chiplet and can be used independently or combined with proprietary interconnect solutions to accelerate time to market.
