Amazon (AMZN.US) spokesperson said on Thursday that the company will donate $1 million to the inauguration fund of U.S. president-elect Donald Trump and will stream the event on its Prime Video. The donation was planned as Bezos is set to visit Trump at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, next week, according to people familiar with the matter.Bezos and Amazon decided on the donation earlier this week and informed Trump's team, the people said.A person close to Bezos said: "Bezos will be donating through Amazon." Amazon will also stream the inauguration on its Prime Video.Bezos' Washington Post did not endorse any candidate in the November presidential election, which prevented it from supporting Democratic candidate Harris.Bezos defended his decision not to make a statement of support, writing in a newspaper column that "most people think the media is biased" and that the Washington Post and other newspapers need to improve their credibility.Trump previously raised a record $106.7 million for his 2017 inauguration.
