Altcoin Market Cap to Surge to $2.8 Trillion by 2025: Michaël van de Poppe
Crypto analyst and trader Michaël van de Poppe has expressed a bullish outlook on altcoins, predicting that their market capitalization could reach $2.8 trillion by 2025. In a recent post on the social media platform X, van de Poppe stated that the altcoin market cap, currently at $280 billion, could increase tenfold within the next 12 to 24 months.
Van de Poppe also shared his views on Bitcoin (BTC), asserting that the flagship crypto asset has not yet reached its cycle peak and that a "real" bullish wave is still to come. He predicted that Bitcoin could rise by at least 10% from its current level this month. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $98,141.
Citing the example of cross-chain protocol Wormhole (W) against Bitcoin on the three-day time frame, van de Poppe noted that various crypto assets are experiencing "massive bullish divergence." This occurs when the price of an asset records lower highs while an indicator such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) records higher lows. Wormhole is currently trading at 0.00000182 BTC ($0.179).
