On Sept. 26, 2025,
(GOOGL) closed at $157.80, rising 0.25% to outperform the broader market. The stock traded with $4.12 billion in volume, securing 14th position in U.S. equity trading activity for the day. Analysts noted renewed investor confidence in the tech giant's AI-driven ad revenue potential following recent earnings reports showing stable cloud growth and core search dominance.Recent filings revealed management is accelerating AI infrastructure investments across its data centers, with plans to expand processing capacity by 30% by Q1 2026. This strategic shift aligns with growing institutional demand for AI-powered cloud solutions, though analysts caution about near-term margin pressures from capital expenditures. The company's recent partnership with automotive tech firms to integrate Waymo into next-gen EV platforms has also attracted thematic investors.
Regulatory developments remain a key overhang, with the EU's ongoing antitrust probe into Google's ad tech practices showing no signs of resolution. While the company maintains its compliance stance, legal costs are expected to remain elevated through 2026. Separately, the FTC's motion to dismiss a major privacy lawsuit was denied, preserving the case's potential material impact on future compliance frameworks.
To build and back-test this strategy rigorously I need to nail down a couple of practical details: 1. Universe Which market should the 500 stocks be drawn from? • U.S. listed common stocks (NYSE + NASDAQ)? • Another market or a custom universe you already have in mind? 2. Execution prices • Buy at today’s close and sell at tomorrow’s close (classic end-of-day rebalance), or • Buy at tomorrow’s open and sell at tomorrow’s close, or another convention? 3. Transaction costs / slippage Should we ignore them, apply a fixed cost (e.g., 2 bps each side), or use other assumptions? Once we have these points locked down I can generate the daily “top-500-by-volume” lists, feed them into the back-test engine and show you the return and risk statistics from 2022-01-03 to the present.

Hunt down the stocks with explosive trading volume.
