Algoma Steel has rolled the first batch of steel plates for the construction of two Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker ships at its plate mill in Sault Ste. Marie. The steel plates will be used in the construction of the ships, which will help the Canadian Coast Guard perform icebreaking duties in the country's Arctic waters.
