The new Seattle-Seoul Incheon flight will connect families, friends, and businesses in the Pacific Northwest with South Korea's capital city. The flight will operate with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft, known for its long-range capability, superior fuel efficiency, and next-generation technology. The aircraft features 34 enclosed Business Class suites with lie-flat seats, privacy doors, 18-inch HD monitors, and wireless charging. Additionally, the airline plans to install ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi in its 787s next year [1].
To celebrate the inaugural flight, Alaska is offering limited-time deals for travel between September 12 and December 15, 2025. Travelers can take advantage of a Buy One, Get One (BOGO) offer when buying Seattle-Seoul Incheon tickets or book award redemptions for as low as 20,000 points one-way. The BOGO offer allows travelers to purchase one economy fare and get their travel companion's ticket for only the taxes and fees. For award redemptions, travelers can earn status points for the distance traveled, with 5,200 status points earned on a one-way flight [1].
The new route also coincides with the start of Chuseok, also known as Korean Thanksgiving Day, allowing travelers to visit with family and friends in South Korea with Alaska's award-winning service and hospitality. In addition to the new service, Alaska will begin flying the 787-9 on the existing Seattle-Tokyo Narita route starting on January 6, 2026, and on new flights from Seattle to London and Rome next spring [1].
Alaska Air Group operates through its subsidiaries Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Holdings, Horizon Air Industries, and McGee Air Services, offering scheduled air transportation for passengers and cargo. The airline serves over 140 destinations in North America, Central America, Asia, and the Pacific, and provides group business travel services. With this new route, Alaska continues to expand its global network and enhance its connectivity to key markets [2].
The new service is part of Alaska's broader strategy to strengthen its position as a leading global airline, offering travelers convenient and efficient routes to popular destinations. As the airline expands its international routes, it is also investing in its fleet and technology to provide a superior travel experience for its passengers.
