AHH, backed by Singapore’s GIC and TPG, currently holds over 70% stake in AINU. The investment will bring AHH's total investment in AINU to Rs 1,000 crore by FY30, making it one of the largest investments in the single-specialty format in the urology-nephrology space [1].
The expansion plan includes opening 13 new hospitals from the current seven, with most planned in Tier 2 towns such as Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, and others. AINU's current hospitals are spread across seven locations, including two Metro cities in Hyderabad and Chennai, with the rest in Tier 2 cities [1].
The new centre in Hyderabad, launched on July 2, 2025, is a significant milestone. It has a capacity of 150 beds and features advanced robotic surgical technology and eight centres of excellence covering sub-specialities such as female urology, uro-oncology, and paediatric urology. The centre aims to provide faster procedures, fewer complications, and better outcomes for patients [2].
AHH has earmarked Rs 150 crore in capital expenditure for FY26-27 to open 3-4 new urology and nephrology hospitals across India. By FY30, AINU plans to have around 20 hospitals, with a total bed capacity of about 850 [3].
The market for single-specialty hospitals in India is expected to more-than-double to $31 billion in three-four years from the current $15 billion. This growth is driven by private equity-led expansion into small towns and hinterlands where demand for quality healthcare services is growing rapidly [1].
