Aiko Medical Unveils Lattice NEXT at SLICE Conference, Advancing Stroke Treatment
Aiko Medical made a significant impact at the SLICE Next FrontiersREFR-- BrainMIND-- Stroke Vascular Intervention Conference held in April in Montpellier, France. The company introduced its innovative Lattice NEXT headless mesh end, a technology designed to enhance precision and efficacy in vascular interventions. This debut marked a pivotal moment for Aiko Medical, as it showcased its advancements alongside global experts in neurointervention.
The conference provided a platform for exploring the future prospects of flow-guided technology, a critical area in the treatment of stroke and other vascular conditions. The Lattice NEXT headless mesh end was a highlight of the event, representing a significant step forward in the treatment of stroke. This technology offers improved outcomes for patients by providing more accurate and less invasive procedures.
During the conference, Professor Sun Li Yong from the Capital Medical University Xuanwu Hospital and Vincent Costalat, the founder of SLICE, engaged in a deep discussion about the application of Lattice in treating complex arterial aneurysms. The complexity of the case, involving a tortuous and curved path through the spongy sinus segment of the artery, posed significant challenges. The difficulty lay in establishing a pathway, positioning the stent, and preventing it from twisting during deployment, making the surgery highly challenging.
The Lattice NEXT, with its innovative "no extension" head end guidewireGWRE-- design and optimized stent delivery system, addressed these challenges. It allowed for smoother positioning and more controlled deployment in tortuous blood vessels, making the procedure more manageable. Professor Sun Li Yong demonstrated the use of the Lattice NEXT flow-guided mesh stent in combination with Cosine45 microcatheters and Sine27 microguidewires to treat a fusiform aneurysm in the spongy sinus segment. The procedure involved navigating the microguidewire through the brain, crossing the aneurysm neck at the carotid siphon, and using the delivery system to stabilize and deploy the stent, preventing twisting and ensuring proper wall apposition.
The SLICE conference is a gathering of global stroke medical professionals, providing a platform for exchange and learning. It actively invites young doctors to participate, offering them a fun and educational way to gain cutting-edge academic knowledge and expert experience. The conference is held twice a year in Montpellier, France, with the SLICE Worldwide Multidisciplinary Neurointervention Conference in October and the SLICE Next Frontiers Brain Stroke Vascular Intervention Conference in April.
Aiko Medical's participation in the conference underscored its commitment to advancing medical innovation. By engaging with the global medical community, the company not only gains recognition for its groundbreaking work but also contributes to the broader understanding and application of advanced technologies. The Lattice NEXT headless mesh end has the potential to revolutionize vascular interventions, offering new hope for patients suffering from stroke and other vascular diseases.
