AEW Makes Significant REIT Positioning Changes in Q2

According to S&P Global Market Intelligence, AEW's REIT holdings declined by 7.1% quarter-over-quarter to approximately $1.90 billion as of June 30, 2025 [1]. The firm sold 300 shares of Lineage, which it had held at the end of the first quarter, and reduced its stake in W. P. Carey from 139,640 shares to 61,560 shares. AEW also decreased its position in Tanger (SKT) by 45% to 1,100 shares, Extra Space Storage (EXR) by 3.79% to 143,719 shares, and Macerich (MAC) by 10.54% to 1,380,906 shares.
Meanwhile, AEW took a new stake in Rexford Industrial Realty during Q2, acquiring 120,480 shares in the industrial REIT. The investment manager also increased its holdings in 12 REITs, including CubeSmart, Healthpeak Properties (DOC), VICI Properties (VICI), Vornado Realty Trust (VNO), and Phillips Edison (PECO). AEW's position in CubeSmart grew from 400 shares to 587,000 shares at June 30, 2025.
These portfolio changes reflect AEW's ongoing efforts to optimize its REIT portfolio and adapt to changing market conditions.
