The US Navy has awarded a joint venture of AECOM and Stantec a $150 million contract to upgrade the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Maine. The contract, which includes a base year and four option years, focuses on modernizing dry docks, production facilities, utilities, and waterfront infrastructure. The project is part of the Navy's Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, which aims to integrate infrastructure, facilities, and equipment investments. AECOM and Stantec have previously worked with the Navy on similar projects, including the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Hawaii.
