The SIU has welcomed a Special Tribunal ruling declaring the R646 million contract awarded to AECOM SA for the emergency upgrading of the Thukela-Goedertrouw transfer scheme in KwaZulu-Natal constitutionally invalid. AECOM SA is required to repay the state and pay the SIU's legal costs.
