The NDQ1300 and NDQ1600 modules are designed to convert a 48V input into a fully-regulated 12V output, suitable for non-isolated, low-voltage, high-current power stages. This makes them particularly well-suited for advanced information and communication technology (ICT) equipment, including AI servers, compute and networking, as well as industrial applications such as robotics and test and measurement.
Joe Voyles, vice president of Industrial Power Conversion, System Power at Advanced Energy, commented on the new modules, stating, "Today’s power system designers are focusing on efficiency and form factor as they look to deliver the low loss power conversion essential to emerging AI and next-generation industrial applications. The NDQ1300 and NDQ1600 deliver high power density and high efficiency across the range, offer a standard footprint to optimize performance, reduce power use and size, and simplify design."
The new NDQ products feature a flat efficiency curve that ensures optimal power conversion across a wide load range. Additionally, they include an integrated PMBus interface for flexible digital control and monitoring, and options for current-share and remote sensing, enabling multiple power supplies to connect in parallel for higher load current or redundancy.
The modules also use an inherently safe transformer-based topology, which is resilient to transient loads and makes designing applications for inrush current-control on start-up easier. Advanced thermal management and heatsink integration are provided through an advanced baseplate, while standard sizes facilitate straightforward power scaling and a compact design protects downstream circuits.
Advanced Energy Industries has a strong reputation for innovation in the power conversion sector, with a focus on precision and performance. The company serves a wide range of industries, including semiconductor equipment, industrial, manufacturing, telecommunications, data center computing, and healthcare. With its headquarters in Denver, Colorado, USA, Advanced Energy continues to drive technological advancements and growth for its customers.
