Researchers have collaborated to increase the performance of open quantum simulations with classical compute resources by integrating NVIDIA cuQuantum with QuTiP. The qutip-cuquantum plugin leverages cuDensityMat to accelerate quantum computing emulations. By using Amazon EC2 instances, they achieved increased simulation speeds of up to 4000x, making it possible to model large-scale, multi-qubit systems with improved efficiency.
