AB DAO and the AB Charity Foundation have embarked on a joint mission to transform the global philanthropic landscape by integrating technology and trust. This collaboration was officially launched with the inaugural “Tech-Driven Philanthropy Closed-Door Forum” held in Dublin, Ireland, on May 12th, 2025. The event was a pivotal moment in their shared vision to utilize technology for public good.
The forum was chaired by Mr. Bertie Ahern, Chairman of the AB Charity Foundation, former Prime Minister of Ireland, and of the European Council. In his keynote speech, titled “Technology and Trust – A New Order for Philanthropy,” Mr. Ahern emphasized the necessity of building trustworthy systems in the digital age to advance philanthropic efforts. He discussed how emerging technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance transparency and empower global well-being.
Notable attendees included H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, of Nigeria and former Chairperson of the African Union, and Mr. Malcolm Byrne, Irish Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence. The forum gathered thought leaders and experts to explore the potential of blockchain and AI in revolutionizing philanthropy. Participants delved into how these technologies can create more transparent and efficient systems for charitable giving, ensuring that donations reach their intended beneficiaries with greater accountability.
Mr. Anthony Tsang, representing the AB public blockchain, presented the latest technological advancements, including the high-performance mainnet, the AB Connect cross-chain protocol, and the Universal Transfer Protocol, which enables gas-free transactions. His presentation outlined AB DAO’s long-term vision to develop a globally compliant infrastructure for philanthropy, powered by decentralized technology. This infrastructure aims to provide a secure and transparent platform for charitable activities, fostering trust and efficiency in the philanthropic sector.
Key proposals and insights from the forum will be compiled by the AB Charity Foundation and submitted to the United Nations and global partner networks. This collaborative effort aims to drive real-world initiatives that promote “technology for good,” furthering the joint mission to reshape the global philanthropic landscape through innovative and trustworthy systems. The partnership between AB DAO and the AB Charity Foundation represents a significant step forward in leveraging technology to enhance transparency, accountability, and impact in philanthropy.
