52TOYS responds to rumors of a Hong Kong IPO: "All just rumors"
According to recent media reports, 52TOYS, a mainland toy company, is in talks with investment banks to list in Hong Kong in the second half of this year, possibly raising US$100 million to US$200 million (about HK$780 million to HK$1.56 billion). In response to the media, 52TOYS founder and CEO Chen Wei said: "It's all rumors."
52TOYS, established in 2015, advocates "play something interesting". According to the website information, 52TOYS has launched six product lines, including blind boxes, transformation mecha & assembly, poseable dolls, the fun and affordable line of Crows Pick, the super activation and derivative peripheral focusing on the cultural and tourism market, etc. It owns original IPs such as Panda Roll, Sleep, NOOK, Lilith, Kimmy & Miki, and has long-term cooperation with dozens of international famous IPs such as Tom and Jerry, Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon and Strawberry Bear, Mickey and Friends, Toy Story (Toy Story) under Disney.
52TOYS also launched its original transformation mecha IP - BEASTBOX, creating more than 100 character products while continuously building a multi-dimensional content ecosystem centered on novels, comics and films.
