5 Earnings This Week That Could Reweight the AI and Space Trades

Nasdaq-100 inclusion raises the stakes for Rocket LabRKLB--, CoreWeaveCRWV--, and four others
This week's earnings matter because they test two crowded themes at once: whether AI demand still commands confidence, and whether space stocks can hold up amid fresh skepticism. The timing is especially important because over $800 billion in passive assets track the Nasdaq-100, and Monday's inclusion of Rocket Lab, CoreWeave, AsteraALAB-- Labs, NebiusNBIS--, and Teradyne should bring some passive buying into those shares. The highest-attention reports this week are Nebius, Supermicro, Rocket Lab, CoreWeave, and Lumentum.
The market setup is fairly polarized. Some chip and networking names are entering reports with momentum, while AI infrastructure and space names look more vulnerable to a shift in sentiment. That makes this week less about broad narratives and more about whether orders, guidance, and liquidity can support the optimism already embedded in these stocks.
The clearest watches are CoreWeave and Nebius as direct reads on AI cloud demand, SupermicroSMCI-- as the sentiment pressure point, and Rocket Lab as the space trade's most visible earnings test. If these prints reinforce confidence, the post-inclusion bid can stick. If they weaken, even passive flow may not cushion the blow.
Rocket Lab's backlog is strong, but investors still want operating proof
Rocket Lab's Monday report matters less as a space narrative and more as a test of whether the company can turn backlog into investor confidence. The operating foundation is real: Rocket Lab reported on Monday after fiscal Q1 delivered more than $200 million in revenue, along with a $2.2 billion backlog and more than $2 billion in liquidity. That gives bulls a stronger base than a pure story stock would have.
Still, the market is unlikely to reward the backlog alone. Skeptics can argue that backlog is not revenue, liquidity can be used quickly, and any overly optimistic tone could backfire if execution details remain uncertain.

What the quarter needs to show
The key question is whether the current business base looks sturdy enough to fund the Neutron timeline without making investors uneasy. Last quarter's revenue beat expectations at the time, and Management guided to $225 million to $240 million for Q2. With shares at $82.83, the stock already trades with some premium attached to that transition. In other words, 'solid' may not be enough.
CoreWeave, Nebius, and Supermicro remain the main AI earnings tripwires
These three sit at the center of the week's most volatile AI earnings story because Nebius, Supermicro, and CoreWeave are flagged as the highest-tension releases. CoreWeave adds another layer of scrutiny: it joined the Nasdaq-100 just 15 months after its 2025 IPO. Index inclusion can help demand, but it does not remove the need for a fresh reason to outperform.
What bulls need from each report
A bullish read-through probably requires clear signs that AI cloud demand remains strong and that supply, customers, and utilization are keeping pace. For Supermicro, the bar may be less about headline beats and more about management tone after a difficult stretch.
Why a miss could spread beyond one stock
The risk is sector-wide as much as company-specific. These names have become shorthand for AI infrastructure confidence. If CoreWeave slips after a rapid run into the index, if Nebius raises doubts about the pace of cloud demand, or if Supermicro sounds less assured than investors expect, the whole group could be marked down together.
- Bull case: all three clear the bar, AI leadership stays intact, and the subgroup keeps acting as a sector anchor.
- Bear case: one weak guide, one hesitant comment on demand, or one customer-concentration concern spreads quickly because positioning is already exposed.
- Most dangerous miss: not always a reported miss. Sometimes the trigger is simply commentary that sounds less confident than the market assumed.
What the group says about the AI trade
This week should help clarify whether AI infrastructure is still leading the market or merely leaning on passive flows and momentum. If the prints hold up, the trade can keep working. If one cracks under post-index or sentiment pressure, investors may start treating it as a broader warning rather than an isolated stumble.
