IT Home June 20th news, AMD officially launched the latest ROCm (Radeon Open Compute) platform, announcing support for multi-GPU clusters, such as dual RX 7900XTX or W7900 graphics cards, dual-slot or quad-slot PRO W7900 workstation graphics cards.
Moreover, ROCm also supports more RDNA3 graphics cards, including Radeon RX 7900 GRE, and the newly released dual-slot PRO W7900 workstation graphics cards priced at $3499 (IT Home note: about 25433 yuan RMB at current price).
The most important point of the latest ROCm is to increase support for WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux), so that it can initially support various AI tools based on Linux on the Windows system.
AMD also announced that the TensorFlow framework has been certified for ROCm. Together with PyTorch and ONNX, this means that the ROCm library has been greatly improved for the most popular AI acceleration platforms.
The main features of this release focus on improving compatibility, accessibility and scalability, including:
Multi-GPU support: allows to build AI workstations based on multiple graphics cards, suitable for multi-service and multi-user solutions.
Microsoft WSL2 Beta support: allows WSL to be used together with ROCm, so that AI programs can run on Windows.
TensorFlow framework support: provides more choices for AI developers.
