2024 Global Unicorn Enterprise Development Report: Fintech and AI Lead the Trend

From July 9 to 11, the 2024 Global Unicorn Innovation Development Conference was held in Zhengzhou. During the conference, Great Wall Strategic Consulting released the "World Unicorn Enterprise Development Report 2024", which pointed out that the total number of global unicorn enterprises had exceeded 1200 and the total valuation was over $3 trillion. The report found that financial technology and artificial intelligence were the hot tracks for unicorn enterprises.

Wu Wensheng, chairman of Great Wall Strategic Consulting, said that as of the end of 2023, there were 1201 unicorn enterprises in the world. Among them, 145 new unicorn enterprises entered in 2023 and 310 new financing enterprises were obtained. The report showed that China and the United States dominated the global unicorn enterprises in terms of distribution. The average growth cycle of global unicorn enterprises was 4.74 years, and the growth cycle of unicorn enterprises in China and the United Kingdom was the shortest, about 4.3 years.

Wu Wensheng suggested that optimizing the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, developing venture capital and increasing openness were key to cultivating unicorn enterprises. For cities like Zhengzhou, Wu Wensheng suggested that they should combine industrial foundations and regional advantages to cultivate more unicorn enterprises through the upgrading of traditional industries and the introduction of external scientific and technological resources, and promote industrial upgrading.
