$100 Becomes $1,538 if Iran's Regime Falls -- and Its Leader Is Reportedly in a Coma
The man appointed to run Iran in March has not been seen in public for five months. Western intelligence reportedly says he is unconscious in the holy city of Qom. The regime is so desperate to prove he exists that a paramilitary chief just promised to release footage of him. Polymarket still prices the regime's fall before 2027 at just 6.5 cents -- a $100 bet pays $1,538 if it lands. Keep reading: you're early.
The clock is ticking in Tehran, and the odds haven't caught up.
On August 9, Reuters reported that Iranian state media finally confirmed President Pezeshkian met Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in late July -- the strongest "proof of life" the regime has offered since he took over in March. Here's the tell: a paramilitary leader also promised to release footage of Khamenei in the future. You don't promise to film your supreme leader if he's fine. You promise footage when you need to prove he exists.
Pezeshkian's own story keeps shifting -- "increasing day by day" on July 21, then suddenly vague in early August. And The Times, citing a diplomatic memo based on American and Israeli intelligence, reports Khamenei is unconscious and in severe condition, unable to take part in regime decision-making. The claims aren't independently verified -- but nobody has produced a single image of the man supposedly running the country since March.
Meanwhile, a video out of Iran shows a banner of the late Ali Khamenei being set on fire while someone shouts "It's time to finish this. Long live the Shah." The regime's own state media is warning of factional warfare and economic collapse. The succession battle inside the leadership has turned into what one analysis calls a war of thugs.

The trade: a collapsing state, priced at a shrug.
Here's the board -- "Will the Iranian regime fall before 2027?" It resolves December 31, less than five months away, and over $24 million has already traded on it.
The YES side costs 6.5 cents. So $100 buys you 1,538 shares. If the regime falls before New Year's, that's $1,538 back -- a $1,438 swing on a single bill. See the live odds and trade on Polymarket ->
The honest part, in the same breath: if the regime limps into 2027, the whole $100 goes to zero. That's why it's cheap. This is not a guarantee -- it's an asymmetric bet on a state in visible decay, and the price hasn't moved to match the headlines.
Why nobody's looking -- and why that's your edge.
Iran headlines are so constant that the crowd has learned to tune them out. Every regime-change market smells like noise, so the specific facts get discounted: the head of state is a rumor, the economy is in freefall, the security apparatus is fracturing. The market is still saying there's a 93.5% chance this regime simply survives -- with a leader nobody can show, a faction war boiling, and protesters burning the old supreme leader's face in the street. That gap between what's happening and what's priced is the entire trade.
$24 million traded says the crowd has an opinion. The price says that opinion hasn't caught up with August 9. You can be early now, or you can be the one who watches the promised footage drop and buys at 40 cents.
The kicker: The man who runs Iran can't be filmed, and Polymarket still prices the fall at 6%. When a regime starts promising evidence that its leader is alive, that's how you know it's dying. One click before everyone else catches on.
