0xFútbol, a Web3 hub for football fans, is on a mission to transform the way fans engage with the sport by giving them a tangible stake in football. Agu Rodríguez, the founder and CEO of 0xFútbol and a former football player, highlighted this vision during a recent live AMA.
0xFútbol combines elements of sports, gaming, and market dynamics to create a dynamic experience for football fans. The platform is building a variety of products to cater to different types of fans, from casual gamers to hardcore strategists. One of these products is MetaSoccer, an online football manager game that has already attracted over 50,000 users, with more than 5,000 teams playing each month. Within the game, users can own clubs, players, scouts, and other key elements of the football world as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
For a more casual entry point, 0xFútbol offers Wonderkid, a game available as a Telegram Mini App. Wonderkid provides a simple introduction to Web3 and digital ownership with its hyper-casual, Tamagotchi-style format. Users train young soccer players until they reach a professional level, at which point they can be transferred into the more complex MetaSoccer game. This transition allows users to realize that they can do much more than just play; they can actually take and use their assets wherever they want.
The ecosystem also includes a football-focused prediction market, Fútbol PM, set to launch its beta in the third quarter of 2025. This market will cover a broad range of predictions, from match outcomes to mid- and long-term predictions on player transfers and league promotions. It will also extend into gaming and esports, allowing users to predict various outcomes related to football. The platform’s decentralized approach means that the community creates the questions, and FUTBOL tokenholders can propose new markets, stake tokens to back these markets, and invite others to supply liquidity. A market only becomes active after it generates sufficient community attention and liquidity.
Another 0xFútbol product, Ultras, has evolved from an NFT profile picture collection into a full-fledged engagement platform for professional football clubs. Ultras addresses the underutilization of club assets like training sessions, museum tours, and merchandise, aiming to transform the fan experience. The platform enables clubs to create onchain-validated tasks for fans, such as attending a match, creating social media content, or playing a specific game. This combination of a task-based engagement platform and the energy of football fandom aims to enhance fan engagement significantly.
Uniting all of these products and experiences is the FUTBOL token, which serves as both a flexible gateway and an incentive across the ecosystem. The tokenomics feature structured vesting schedules and lockups, fostering long-term stability and aligning with the project’s ownership ethos. This approach is a clear departure from projects that offer large early unlocks to insiders.
Rodríguez concluded that if 0xFútbol can bring together millions of football fans and educate them about the importance of ownership, it can create a revolution that will change the way football is done. The platform’s vision is to activate the global fanbase by providing them with a tangible stake in the sport, thereby transforming the traditional spectator role into an active and engaged participant.
