A $0.0001 Token Isn't Cheap: How to Audit the Apeing Presale (and Any "100x" Pitch) Tonight

The screen that sells the ticket: put $5,000 into Apeing's presale at $0.0001 a token and you get 50,000,000 of them. The plan printed underneath is a "planned listing" at $0.01, which the arithmetic calls a 100x. That is the whole pitch, and one of those three numbers is doing all the work. And it is being pitched into a tape that favors none of it: Bitcoin dominance sits near 59.8%, the Altcoin Season Index reads 29 — far from the zone where altcoins lead — and a rising stablecoin share of the market is pointing toward risk-off inside crypto, not toward fresh meme liquidity.

Two prices and a division sign are not a return. A token price is the market cap divided by the supply, and the issuer picks the supply, so the issuer picks how small the price looks. $0.0001 is a marketing number, not a valuation; your $5,000 buys 50 million tokens only because the denominator is huge, and it would buy 10,000 tokens of a $0.50 coin just as "early" until you know the float behind both. The advertised 100x is the ratio of two prices the project itself named — $0.01 divided by $0.0001. A listing target is a hope, not a bid. Someone has to actually pay $0.01 with real money, and nothing about a "theoretical 100x" says who.

So the only useful question is the one the pitch skips: what supports the ratio? Start on the project's own page. An Ethereum contract address is printed there next to a notice that reads, "Do not send any funds to this smart contract address", and the page publishes no token price, no total supply, no presale allocation, and no audit report — those are withheld until "after audit," a phrase with no date. The whitelist already holds more than 12,000 names, but the presale itself has no confirmed launch date, only a rumored first week of September. The coverage around it is a single press-release wave filed within days of each other, several under a byline that literally reads "Crypto Presale PR" — and the wave cannot keep its multiple straight: 100x in one version, 1,000x in another, "up to 10,000 ROI" in a third, and its own FAQ reportedly calling the same move 10x.

The category runs its own arithmetic, and it is brutal. Roughly 98.6% of the tokens deployed on Pump.fun between January 2024 and March 2025 collapse into worthless pump-and-dump schemes shortly after launch; about 93% of the Raydium liquidity pools analyzed show "soft rug pull" characteristics. A separate study covering 6.4 million new Solana memecoins found that over 80% exhibit rug-pull traits, most within an hour of launch. A presale is that same slot, one step earlier and worse. Post-launch you at least hold a token and a pool you can exit into. Presale money sits in a wallet with neither — no listing, no liquidity, no exit — waiting on a contract no one has verified.

Which returns to the hook in the headline: get in while TRUMP and Pepe "soar." The Official Trump token did rally roughly 38% over twenty days — from a coin still down about 58% year to date and sitting near a fifth of its $9.54 52-week high. Pepe trades in the neighborhood of a $1 billion market cap. A bounce off a damaged tape reads as "soaring" when the prompt is a press release; it reads as a cold rotation when the dominance and season data are on screen.

The check fits one sitting. Run it in order, and stop at the first red line.

1. Contract first, hype second. Copy the address from the official site — never a DM link — into a block-explorer or token-safety scanner. Source verified? Ownership renounced? Honeypot flag clear? An address that cannot be checked tonight is an answer.
2. Demand three numbers: total supply, presale allocation percentage, and the liquidity-lock terms. No supply, no lock, no answer means you are the designated exit liquidity.
3. Do the market-cap math once. Multiply the target price by total supply and read the size of the thing you are buying into; a $0.01 token on a trillion-supply float needs a $10 billion market to close the pitch.
4. Open the actual audit: a named firm, a dated report, a scope. "Audit underway" is a status update, not a document.
5. Check the tape it lives in. With the Altcoin Season Index below 40 and Bitcoin dominance climbing, the cheap-meme machine is cold; trade the token in the season it is actually in.
6. Size it as a full loss. An unlisted presale has no exit, so write the number you can afford to zero before you type in a wallet.
