Vishay Intertechnology shares fall 9.8% after Q2 revenue miss
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH) reported second-quarter 2025 earnings of $0.01 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.02 per share and underperforming the year-ago quarter's earnings of $0.17 per share. Despite the earnings shortfall, the company's revenue rose 2.9% year over year.
The mixed performance led to a sharp decline in investor confidence, with VSH shares falling 14.05% on the day of the earnings release. Year to date, the stock has declined 17.8%, lagging behind the Zacks Computer and Technology sector's 10.9% growth.
Vishay's Q2 results reflected a broad-based recovery in revenue across most business segments, with year-over-year increases in Diodes, Resistors, and Capacitors. However, the company's adjusted EBITDA fell 28.2% from the prior-year period, and the operating margin contracted to 2.9% from 5.1%.
The company's cash and cash equivalents stood at $473.9 million as of June 28, 2025, down from $609.4 million as of March 29, 2025. Additionally, Vishay reported a negative free cash flow of $73.2 million in the quarter.
The earnings miss and weak financial performance have raised concerns among investors, with the company's stock continuing to underperform the broader technology sector.
