Genesis Energy names Simon Mackenzie non-executive director

Genesis Energy has appointed Simon Mackenzie as a non-executive director to its board. Mackenzie, who previously served as chief executive of Vector from 2008 until his planned departure at the end of June 2025, brings extensive leadership and operational experience in the energy sector. His tenure at Vector was marked by strategic growth, innovation, and the development of competitive businesses such as Vector Metering (now Bluecurrent) and Ongas. Mackenzie will continue to serve as a director of Bluecurrent and will remain available to support a smooth transition.

The appointment aligns with Genesis Energy’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its board with experienced industry leaders. Mackenzie’s background in managing complex energy operations and driving innovation is expected to contribute to the company’s strategic direction. The addition of Mackenzie to the board follows the recent appointment of Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua as an independent non-executive director, further enhancing the board’s diversity and expertise.
