Constellation Brands has announced a $100 million investment in female-founded alcoholic beverage companies by 2028, aiming to increase representation and support for women in the predominantly male alcohol industry. The initiative, titled "Focus on Female Founders," will be managed by the company’s venture capital arm, Constellation Brands Ventures. The first two investments under this program include Austin Cocktails and Vivify Beverages, both of which produce craft and hard sodas.

The move aligns with broader trends in entrepreneurship, where women-led businesses are among the fastest-growing segments in the U.S. According to the Small Business Administration, these businesses generate twice as much revenue per dollar compared to other businesses. Constellation’s investment will also provide the startups with access to its supply chain, distribution networks, and brand-building resources, potentially enhancing their market reach.

Bill Newlands, Constellation’s incoming CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging the innovative perspectives of women-led businesses to drive growth in the beverage alcohol sector. This initiative reflects a broader trend among beverage companies to diversify their portfolios and better align with evolving consumer preferences, particularly among millennials.
