Caesars Entertainment executive chairman Mather to resign
Caesars Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: CZR) announced that Don R. Kornstein will resign from his roles as director and vice chair of the Board of Directors, effective December 31, 2025. The company emphasized that Kornstein's decision is not the result of any disagreement with the organization. Kornstein has served on the board for 12 years and played a key role in several strategic initiatives, including the merger between Caesars and Eldorado.
Following his retirement, the board size is expected to be reduced to 11 members. Gary Carano, Executive Chairman, and Tom Reeg, CEO, expressed gratitude for Kornstein’s contributions, noting his leadership and counsel in advancing the company’s strategic goals. Kornstein’s departure marks another leadership transition for Caesars, which previously announced Mark Frissora as CEO in 2015, succeeding Gary Loveman.
The company did not disclose details about a potential replacement or further board changes in its recent SEC filing. Analysts have offered mixed perspectives on Caesars’ recent performance, with Wells Fargo initiating coverage with an Equal Weight rating and a $21.00 price target, while Jefferies and CFRA have issued more cautious outlooks. These developments reflect ongoing scrutiny of Caesars’ financial strategy and debt management amid a competitive industry landscape.
