Barrick Mining: Raymond James cuts target price to $56 from $58
Raymond James has revised its price target for Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE:B) to $56 from $58, while maintaining an Outperform rating. The stock currently trades at $42.16, with a market capitalization of $70.6 billion and a P/E ratio of 14.4. Analysts remain divided on the stock’s potential, with price targets ranging from $30 to nearly $70.
Brian MacArthur, the analyst covering Barrick, highlighted the company’s strong cash flow generation and high-quality gold and copper assets. Barrick’s 6% free cash flow yield and 4.12% dividend yield, combined with a perfect Piotroski Score of 9, underscore its financial stability. The company has also maintained dividend payments for 40 consecutive years.
Recent strategic moves, including no-premium acquisition of Randgold and the formation of a joint venture with Newmont in Nevada, have enhanced Barrick’s operational efficiency and asset base. However, the acquisition has also increased jurisdictional risk due to Randgold’s significant African operations.
Barrick has also postponed its Reko Diq project in Pakistan due to security concerns and announced leadership changes, including appointments of James J. McGuire and Woo Lee to key executive roles. Meanwhile, gold mining stocks have experienced volatility amid fluctuating gold prices, though recent gains in gold prices have provided some relief to the sector.
