Auckland's CRL Success Spurs Calls for South Island Rail Expansion

Auckland's City Rail Link has been successful, and attention should now be directed towards bringing passenger rail to the South Island. Save Our Trains Southern has called for passenger rail between Amberley and Ashburton, and between Christchurch and Rolleston in the Selwyn district. The advocacy group's spokesperson, Dave MacPherson, believes strong support for passenger rail will be evident if offered.
