Accenture - Financial terms of deal not disclosed
Accenture has been involved in several high-profile contracts and acquisitions in recent years, though the financial terms of some agreements have not been fully disclosed. One notable example is the firm’s role in administering the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) pandemic loan program. The federal government awarded Accenture a contract worth $146 million for this work, though it was not initially listed in the government’s public database for proactive disclosure. The contract, which included responsibilities such as website development, call centre operations, and data collection, was revealed through an access-to-information request and subsequent reporting by The Globe and Mail.
In addition to government contracts, Accenture has pursued a robust acquisition strategy, acquiring 201 companies since 2015. While the financial terms of many of these deals remain undisclosed, the 25 acquisitions with publicly available pricing had a median enterprise value of $90 million and a mean of $239 million. The firm typically acquires businesses in high-growth areas such as cybersecurity, cloud services, and artificial intelligence, with the goal of expanding its capabilities and deepening industry expertise. However, the lack of transparency in many of these transactions has raised questions about the valuation and strategic rationale behind the deals.
Accenture’s financial performance in fiscal 2025 reflected strong revenue growth, with total revenues reaching $69.7 billion and adjusted earnings per share increasing by 8% to $12.93. The company also invested $3.3 billion in acquisitions, research and development, and employee training during the year. Despite these efforts, the company’s stock has traded at a discount compared to the broader market, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 14.1 times versus 23.7 times for the S&P 500. This discrepancy highlights ongoing concerns about the company’s growth trajectory and the effectiveness of its inorganic expansion strategy.
