Because 0DTE options can swing from nearly worthless to highly valuable (or vice versa) within minutes, they occupy a unique niche in options trading. This ranking tool surfaces the contracts experiencing the biggest moves so you do not have to hunt for them manually.

The table lists 0DTE options sorted by percentage change (Chg%) by default, highlighting the contracts with the most dramatic intraday price movement. Since every contract in this table expires today, the data reflects purely same-day activity.

0DTE data behaves differently from standard options rankings due to the extreme time dynamics involved. Here is what to watch for:

 These contracts can go from nearly worthless to valuable (or the reverse) within minutes as the underlying price moves toward or away from the strike. A contract priced at $0.01 that rises to $0.50 shows a +4,900% gain. This is a function of the math, not necessarily a sign of a profitable opportunity.

 Since these contracts expire today, many will have zero open interest from the previous day. All the activity you see is new positions opened during the current session. This makes volume the primary activity metric for 0DTE contracts, since Vol/OI is often undefined or extremely high.

 0DTE contracts typically have elevated implied volatility due to extreme gamma -- the sensitivity of the option's price to changes in the underlying. IV above 100% is not unusual for same-day expiration contracts and does not carry the same interpretation as high IV on a longer-dated option.

0DTE contracts often have wider bid-ask spreads because market makers demand more compensation for the risk of holding these fast-decaying positions. Be cautious with contracts showing spreads above 40-50%, as the execution cost can consume a significant portion of any potential profit.

The 0DTE table shows "U PUT 20260130 35.5" at the top with Chg% of +75,500%, Volume of 2.10K, and IV of 226.55%. Unity (U) is trading near $35.50 and this at-the-money put has surged as the stock declined intraday. The massive percentage change reflects the contract going from nearly worthless to in-the-money as the stock moved through the $35.50 strike.

The high volume (2,100 contracts) confirms active trading interest -- other participants are also trading this contract. However, the 40.80% spread suggests caution on entry. At that spread, you would immediately lose a significant portion of value just from the bid-ask gap.

Even if you choose not to trade this specific contract, the data is informative: it tells you that Unity is experiencing significant bearish options activity today, which may be useful context for stock or longer-dated options decisions.

Options Rankings offers three ranking modes, available on both web and mobile:

Sorts contracts by the number of contracts traded in the current session. High volume indicates active interest in a particular contract. This is the simplest measure of market attention -- the more contracts changing hands, the more traders are focused on that strike and expiration.

Sorts by the total number of outstanding contracts that have not yet been closed or exercised. High open interest indicates established positions. These are contracts where traders have committed capital and are maintaining their bets, making them potential areas of support or resistance for the underlying stock.

Sorts by the ratio of today's volume to open interest. This is often the most informative ranking mode. A high Vol/OI ratio (for example, above 1.0) means today's trading activity exceeds the total outstanding position -- a strong signal of unusual or new interest in that contract. A Vol/OI of 5.0 means today alone has seen five times more trading than the entire existing position.

Understanding the relationship between volume and open interest is the key to interpreting rankings effectively:

 New positions are being opened. This is fresh interest and potentially the strongest signal of unusual activity. Someone is initiating a new bet that did not previously exist at meaningful scale.

 Active trading of established positions. This could indicate rolling (closing one expiration and opening another), adding to existing positions, or closing out. Context from the underlying stock's price action helps clarify which.

 Established positions that are not seeing much current activity. These are "quiet" positions -- worth noting as potential support/resistance levels, but not signaling new directional conviction.

 A spread above 5-10% suggests the contract is illiquid. You may face difficulty entering or exiting at a fair price. Wide spreads erode profits, so factor this cost into any trade decision.

 Compare IV across similar strikes and expirations. Unusually high IV on a specific contract may indicate that the market anticipates news or events that could move the underlying stock.

You open Options Rankings set to Vol/OI Ranking and notice "SPY PUT 20260130 690" with a Vol/OI of 44.71%. The volume is 313 contracts against an OI of just 7 -- meaning today's activity is roughly 44 times the outstanding position. This is an extremely unusual level of activity, suggesting new put positions are being opened at the $690 strike expiring today.

Combined with 37.66% implied volatility and a 37.62% spread, this contract is seeing aggressive speculative interest. The wide spread tells you that execution costs will be high, so this is more useful as an informational signal (bearish positioning on SPY) than as a contract you would necessarily want to trade directly.

Start with Vol/OI Ranking to find unusual activity,

 then switch to Volume Ranking to see the most liquid contracts. This two-step approach helps you spot signals first and tradeable opportunities second.

 Once you identify an interesting contract, drill into the ticker's Option Chain and Unusual Activity Monitor for deeper analysis of the full options landscape.
