Option Flow Digest

AInvest Product TeamMon, Feb 2, 2026 ET

The Ainvest Option Flow Digest is a daily newsletter that analyzes the most notable institutional options flow activity from the trading day. Published near end-of-day, each digest highlights major block trades, unusual positioning, and flow patterns that may signal informed institutional activity. It is one of the three content types available in Ainvest's Option Lab.

Where to Find the Flow Digest

  • Web: Navigate to https://www.ainvest.com/options/ and scroll to the Option Lab section. The most recent digest is featured prominently with a thumbnail image. Older digests are listed below with titles, dates, timestamps, and the "Ainvest Option Flow" author tag.

Platform differences: The web version shows a full article listing with thumbnails and article previews, making it easy to scan recent digests at a glance. The mobile version provides a card-based entry point that navigates to the full article when tapped.

What Each Digest Covers

Every Flow Digest edition follows a consistent structure designed to give you a complete picture of the day's most significant institutional options activity.

  • Headline summary of the day's most significant option flow events, capturing the scale and scope of institutional positioning in a single sentence.
  • Analysis of specific large trades: which tickers saw unusual activity, the size and direction of block trades, and the implied volatility context surrounding them.
  • Multi-ticker coverage: each digest typically covers five to ten tickers with the most notable flow, spanning sectors and market themes.
  • Editorial interpretation: what the flow might signal about institutional sentiment, including whether positioning appears bullish, bearish, or hedging-oriented.

Example Digest Titles

The following titles from the platform illustrate the range and style of coverage:

  • "Ainvest Option Flow Digest - 2026-01-29: Microsoft's Worst Day Since 2020 Triggers $97M Institutional..."
  • "Ainvest Option Flow Digest - 2026-01-28: $152M Institutional Wave Hits 8 Tickers -- Earnings, Silver Squeeze & M&A Mania"
  • "Ainvest Option Flow Digest - 2026-01-26: Someone Just Bet $120M on Gold -- The Largest GLD Options Trade We've Ever Seen"
  • "Ainvest Option Flow Digest - 2026-01-23: Gold Whales Clash, BREN Moonshot & Nike Turnaround -- $145M+ Institutional Bets Decoded"

How to Use the Digest

The Flow Digest works best as part of a daily review routine. Here is how to integrate it into your research process:

  1. Read daily to stay informed about where institutional money is flowing. Consistency matters -- patterns emerge over days and weeks, not in a single session.
  2. Use mentioned tickers as starting points for your own analysis. After reading about a notable trade, check the ticker's Option Chain, Unusual Activity Monitor, and Block Monitor data on the Ainvest platform.
  3. Compare the digest's narrative with your own observations. If you noticed unusual flow on the Flow Monitor chart during the day, the digest may provide the context you were missing.
  4. Track recurring tickers across multiple digests. Sustained institutional interest over several consecutive days is often more meaningful than a single large trade that does not repeat. Watch for tickers that appear in two, three, or more consecutive editions.

Tips

  • The digest is published after market hours. Review it in the evening or before the next trading session to prepare your watchlist.
  • Use it as a daily briefing to identify tickers worth monitoring the following day. Pair each ticker with a quick check of its option chain and recent price action.
  • Cross-reference digest insights with the Block Monitor's filtering tools to dig deeper into specific trades mentioned. The digest tells you what happened; the Block Monitor lets you see the raw data behind it.
  • Pay attention to the dollar amounts cited in digest headlines. Larger notional values generally indicate higher-conviction institutional positioning.
