WEX Inc. (NYSE: WEX) reported second-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.95, surpassing the IBES estimate of $3.05. The company’s adjusted EPS exceeded guidance, reflecting strong operational performance and disciplined cost management. GAAP net income per diluted share for the quarter was $1.98, compared to $1.83 in the same period in 2024.

Total revenue for the second quarter of 2025 was $659.6 million, a 2% decrease from $673.5 million in the second quarter of 2024. The decline was partially attributed to a $15.9 million unfavorable impact from fuel prices and spreads, offset by a $1.9 million favorable impact from foreign exchange rates. Despite the revenue decline, WEX’s adjusted operating income margin reached 36.8%, down from 40.7% in the prior year.

The company’s performance was bolstered by its Benefits segment, which saw 6% increase in average SaaS accounts to 21.2 million. Additionally, average HSA custodial cash assets rose 11% year-over-year to $4.7 billion. In contrast, the Corporate Payments segment experienced 20% decline in purchase volume to $20.5 billion, although total volume processed increased by 3%.

WEX’s cash flows from operating activities in the second quarter were $264.6 million, with adjusted free cash flow at $194.3 million. The company’s CFO, Jagtar Narula, highlighted positive returns from sales and marketing investments and noted a strengthening new business pipeline.

For the third quarter of 2025, WEX expects revenue in the range of $669 million to $689 million and adjusted net income between $4.30 and $4.50 per diluted share. The company also revised its full-year 2025 revenue guidance to a range of $2.61 billion to $2.65 billion, with adjusted net income between $15.37 and $15.77 per diluted share.

WEX’s ability to exceed expectations in adjusted EPS underscores its strategic focus on operational efficiency and growth initiatives. As the company continues to execute its long-term strategy, it remains positioned to deliver value to shareholders through disciplined cost management and targeted investments.
