Vor Biopharma 2Q loss from operations $47.9M
Vor Bio (Nasdaq: VOR), a clinical-stage cell and genome engineering company, reported a net loss of $27.8 million for the second quarter of 2024, representing a slight improvement compared to the $30.0 million loss in the same period in 2023. The company’s loss from operations for the quarter was $29.0 million, down from $32.2 million in the prior-year period, driven by reduced R&D and G&A expenses. R&D expenses declined to $21.8 million from $23.9 million year-over-year, while G&A expenses fell to $7.2 million from $8.3 million.
As of June 30, 2024, Vor Bio held $85.9 million in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, which the company estimates will fund operations through the second half of 2025. The company continues to advance its clinical programs, including trem-cel and VCAR33ALLO, with anticipated data updates in the second half of 2024. Despite the ongoing losses, Vor Bio remains focused on its pipeline of genetically engineered cell therapies for blood cancers, with no revenue reported for the quarter.
