Pakistan Assures Saudi of Support Amid Yemen Conflict Escalation

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to condemn Yemeni rebel attacks on Saudi Arabia, expressing "complete solidarity" with the Kingdom. The call came after Pakistan walked back on its earlier stance on military action against the Houthis, following a drone attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline. The pipeline is a key alternative route for Saudi oil exports, and the attack injured two people and damaged several buildings. The incident represents the first major test of the mutual defence alliance signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey last month.
