Duality Bio: Research, collaboration, license pact w/ Genentech

Duality Biologics, a clinical-stage biotech company focused on the discovery and development of next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapeutics, has entered into multiple strategic agreements in recent years to expand its ADC portfolio and strengthen its industry position. In April 2023, DualityBio announced a global collaboration with BioNTech SE, granting the German biopharma giant exclusive licenses for two investigational ADC assets—DB-1303 and DB-1311—targeting a broad range of human cancers. Under the terms of the agreement, DualityBio received upfront payments totaling $170 million and is eligible for milestone payments exceeding $1.5 billion, as well as tiered royalties on future product sales. BioNTech will hold commercial rights globally, excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, where DualityBio retains commercial rights.

In May 2023, DualityBio also expanded its collaboration with Adcendo ApS, granting the latter access to its DITAC (Duality Immune Toxin Antibody Conjugates) platform under an option license agreement. Adcendo now has the opportunity to nominate ADCs against two novel targets, further broadening the scope of their partnership. These agreements underscore DualityBio’s growing influence in the ADC space and its ability to attract high-profile partners for the development of innovative cancer therapies.
