Compass Diversified announces CEO succession plan

Compass Diversified Holdings (NYSE: CODI) has announced a series of leadership changes, including the appointment of Stephen Keller as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective August 31, 2024, succeeding CFO since July 2013. Faulkingham will remain with the company in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition. Keller brings over 25 years of executive finance experience across multiple industries, including healthcare, industrial, and retail sectors. Prior to joining Compass Diversified, he served as Interim CFO and Vice President of Investor Relations at Envista Holdings Corporation and held leadership roles at Avery Dennison Corporation.

In addition to the CFO transition, Compass Diversified has also announced changes to its board of directors. Nancy B. Mahon, who joined the board in May 2023, has been appointed Chair of the Nominating Committee, replacing Gordon M. Burns, who will not stand for re-election at the 2025 annual shareholders meeting. Mahon, currently the Chief Sustainability Officer at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., brings extensive experience in ESG strategy and corporate governance.

The company also announced the retirement of James J. Bottiglieri from his role as Chair of the Audit Committee, effective April 1, 2023, with Teri R. Shaffer assuming the position. Shaffer, a certified public accountant and information security manager, has served as a director since July 2022 and brings over 30 years of experience in audit and information technology leadership.

These leadership changes reflect Compass Diversified’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance structure and ensure continuity in its long-term strategic direction. The company continues to focus on its core strategy of owning and managing a diverse portfolio of middle-market businesses across the niche industrial, branded consumer, and healthcare sectors.
