CENX--

Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ: CENX) reported a 2.5% increase in its stock price following the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results. The company recorded net sales of $752.1 million for the quarter, reflecting a $102.9 million sequential increase, driven by higher realized metal prices and increased production from the Mt. Holly expansion and the restart of Line 2 at Grundartangi.

Net income attributable to Century was $249.3 million for the quarter, a $88.2 million decrease from the prior quarter, primarily due to a one-time gain on the sale of Hawesville in the first quarter. However, adjusted net income attributable to Century rose to $257.3 million, an $86.6 million sequential increase. Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Century also increased to $326.9 million, up $95.5 million from the prior quarter.

The company also noted operational progress, including the completion of the restart of the last 90 pots at Mt. Holly and the return of Line 2 at Grundartangi to near full production. Additionally, Century received a $94.3 million refund under the 45X program in July 2026.
