Young Bahraini Swimmer Sets World Record at Aquatics Championships

Alzain Tareq, a 10-year-old Bahraini swimmer, became the youngest competitor to race at the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia in 2015. She competed in the women's 50m butterfly and finished last in the heat, but was not deterred, stating she was "happy" and "looking forward to swimming again tomorrow." Tareq had already been swimming for six years and had competed in meets in Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan.
