The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has filed a caveat petition in the Bombay High Court to ensure it is heard before any order is passed in the matter relating to Tata Sons' mandated listing. This comes after the RBI rejected Tata Sons' application to voluntarily surrender its Certificate of Registration, paving the way for a public listing of the holding company. Tata Sons has been keen to remain a privately held company, but the RBI's decision may lead to a public listing. The caveat is a preventive measure to safeguard the interests of both parties and prevent any ex parte orders.
