Ontario Coroner's Office has announced the start date of an inquest for Tyson Demers, who died in hospital four years ago after being transferred from the Niagara Detention Centre in Thorold. The inquest, expected to last six days, will hear from approximately five witnesses and is mandatory due to Demers' death from non-natural causes while in custody. The jury will determine the circumstances of the death and may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
