Ondas shares fall 5.3% after Q2 loss widens
Ondas Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDS) shares declined 5.3% in early trading on August 13, 2026, following the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results, which showed a widening net loss. The company reported a net loss of $10.8 million for Q2 2026, compared to a loss of $10.75 million in the same period in 2025. The loss reflects ongoing investments in operational expansion and R&D, as the company continues to scale its autonomous defense and security systems business.
Despite the loss, Ondas reported a 555% year-over-year revenue increase, a 48% increase from Q1 2026. The growth was driven by strong demand for its Optimus and Iron Drone Raider platforms, particularly in defense and homeland security markets. Ondas also highlighted a growing $22.0 million backlog, indicating strong future revenue visibility.
The company ended the quarter with $68.6 million in cash and restricted cash, up from $30.0 million as of December 31, 2025. This financial position supports Ondas’ strategic growth initiatives, including recent acquisitions and partnerships aimed at expanding its global footprint in autonomous systems.
Analysts remain cautiously optimistic about Ondas’ long-term potential, with Roth Capital maintaining a 'Buy' rating and $13 target. However, the widening loss and mixed earnings history have led to a more cautious outlook in the short term, as reflected in the stock’s decline.
