DRDO Orders 2000 Bulletproof Jackets Developed from Wheat-Based Material

Maharashtra man Makarand Kale developed a plant-based compound for bulletproof protection, tested 280 types of grains, and received a 2000 order from the DRDO. The material is lightweight, gel-like, and layered with cloth and fiberglass. Wheat plays a key role in the formulation, and Kale keeps the exact ingredients and manufacturing process confidential. He has also worked on ideas for tackling bushfires and has been involved in social initiatives.
