RSPF offers an equal-weight play on the US financials sector. In contrast to market-cap-weighting, the fund's equal-weighting scheme increases the impact of smaller firms in the portfolio at the expense of larger ones, and greatly reduces concentration to top holdings. For RSPF, this smaller-cap tilt is lessened by the fund's S&P 500-restricted universe, which excludes most small-caps. Still, its equal-weighting limits the importance of dominant players in the sector and creates more exposure to less known companies.
