In December 2015 the fund switched to the S&P Total Market index which is designed to track the broad U.S. equity market, including large-,mid-,small-, and micro-cap stocks. (Prior to this ITOT covered only 90% of the investable U.S. market.) ITOT's current index is even more comprehensive than our benchmark for the segment and provides outstanding exposure to the entirety of the US equity market. Overall, ITOT delivers comprehensive exposure to the U.S stock market inexpensively.
