New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay is confident the Free Trade Agreement with India will be implemented despite New Zealand First's opposition. McClay believes Labour will support the deal, which would eliminate or reduce tariffs on 95% of exports, benefiting kiwifruit, apples, meat, wool, coal, forestry, and more. The agreement will be signed next year and scrutinized through the select committee process, with legislation required to drop tariff rates for India.
