Ripple has launched a substantial initiative to back startups in Japan that are developing on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The company has teamed up with Web3 Salon to provide grants of up to $200,000 per project. This collaboration is a key part of Ripple's strategy to increase its footprint in Asia and stimulate innovation within the digital assetDAAQ-- space.

The partnership with Web3 Salon, supported by the Asia Web3 AllianceAENT-- Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization, is designed to offer comprehensive support to XRPL builders. This support includes financial, technical, and business resources. The grants will be awarded to a select number of early-stage Japanese firms focusing on areas such as digital payments, tokenized real-world assets (RWA), and decentralized finance (DeFi). The selection of grantees will be based on their growth potential, technological expertise, and alignment with Ripple's investment objectives.

Ripple will personally oversee the grant process to ensure strategic impact and support. Startups will gain access to Ripple's extensive global network of partners, experts, and clients, in addition to the financial support. Web3 Salon will offer founder support through workshops, coaching, and networking opportunities to help scale businesses, improve go-to-market strategies, and establish connections with investors and regulators. The multi-stakeholder platform aims to bridge the gap between traditional financial systems and blockchain innovation through open roundtables and one-on-one mentoring.

The collaboration is closely tied to Ripple's larger Asian expansion goals. Over the next few years, the partnership plans to host four major Web3 events in Japan. These events will feature startup pitch competitions, industry panels, investor networking sessions, and educational workshops on tokenization, compliance, and cross-border growth. The events aim to accelerate growth for individual startups and the entire ecosystem, fostering collaboration between innovators, regulators, and business executives.

This initiative is part of Ripple's 1 Billion XRP commitment to support developers and companies working on the XRP Ledger. The partnership with Web3 Salon demonstrates Ripple's dedication to the digital asset ecosystem in Japan and its commitment to lowering entry barriers for emerging startups and frontier technologies. By providing financial, technical, and business support, Ripple aims to help visionary founders navigate Japan's complex Web3 landscape and strengthen the bridge between global innovation and the local tech ecosystem.
